Everything about fees, training, required documents, and how to register for the IIBF BC/BF certification exam — organized from IIBF's official guidelines.
Certification levels
Basic Certification is for BC Agents handling basic transactions (payments, cash-in/cash-out, remittances). Advanced Certification is for full-fledged BCs covering all regulator-prescribed activities. The two are independent — you don't need to pass Basic before attempting Advanced.

Minimum 75% attendance is mandatory to receive your Training Completion Certificate. Basic Certification training is mainly online; Advanced Certification offers online, offline, or hybrid modes.

- Bankers' Institute of Rural Development (BIRD)
- The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship
- National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM)
- Indian Institute of Bank Management (IIBM)
- CSC Academy
- National Academy of RUDSETI (NAR/RSETI's)
- Banks themselves, at their discretion, following the training structure set by the Coordination Committee
Documents required
If you've completed mandatory training:
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Signature (scanned)
- Valid identity proof — Aadhaar, PAN, Driving Licence, or Bank ID
- Educational qualification certificate
If you're exempt from training (appointed as a BC before 1 April 2024):
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Signature (scanned)
- Identity proof
- Name of the bank where working as a BC
- Date of commencement/joining as BC with the bank
- Bank BC ID number
- Bank BC ID card (mandatory upload)
How to register — 3 modes
Individual Registration via IIBF Website
- Registration schedule and exam dates are published on the IIBF website (exams are usually held once a month).
- You can choose your preferred examination centre and language from the available list.
- Bank employees with Ordinary Membership and other candidates use separate application links on the IIBF site.
- Admit card: downloadable from the website about one week before the exam date, using your registration number.
Individual Registration via Nearest CSC Centre
- Visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) to apply.
- The CSC selects the exam centre from its available list after successful registration.
- Exams run Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays); you choose the date, time, and language.
- Admit card: sent to your registered email ID after successful registration.
Hybrid Mode (via your Bank)
- If your bank has registered you for the exam, you collect your admit letter from the bank's designated Single Point of Contact (SPOC), following your bank's instructions.
Exam languages
The exam is available in 11 languages: Assamese, English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Malayalam, Odia, Bengali, Telugu, Kannada. Questions appear in English alongside your chosen language.
